 Episode 1 (You Can Do More!!!)

A cleaner at school pondered his future. He was working hard but the money was never enough. With a family on the side growing and the standards of living rising, his future seemed not to be exciting at all. He knew he had to do something. But the answers were not forthcoming. He kept praying, scratching his head for answers. At one time he was desperate. He knew he wanted more, but he did not know how to go about it. He never lost hope, he kept believing that one day things might get better.

While in the compound slashing, he whistled but underneath the whistling and smiling to people passing by, was a sense of sadness as if life was passing him by. Then, one day, it occurred to him that there was a pattern growing. There used to be people coming to school looking for jobs every term. Some looked advanced like the instructors whose class was above him. But there was another class that kept getting jobs as the school grew – cooks. Something hit him “wait a minute, since I finished my cleaning before mid-day, I could do extra work. I could go do cooking and earn some extra money rather than going back to my place for extra sleep,” pondered.

As the hope and excitement grew inside him, he rushed to one of the directors’ offices trembling but determined to sell the idea of having a ‘second job’. Upon being given an audience, his pitch was…”Rather than hiring another cook, please consider me since I am already here and you know my work ethics. I can cook, I can finish my cleaning daily very early in the morning and then rush back to the kitchen to do cooking.” he said with a tremble in his voice.
